If my Boat is in the water in my boat house do I need to winterize it?

If my boat is in my boat house and sits in the water, do I need to winterize it? If so, after fogging the engine and pulling the drain plug and replacing it, how much antifreeze do I need to use if any at all?

1. Though you didnt say what kind of boat it is whether it be outboard or sterndrive. Either way I would winterize it period. If so then get the motor out of the water if its an outboard. If its a I/O try and get the entire boat out of the water. Because water can seep back up into the engine. Thus taking a chance on freezing. Either way it would be better if the boat was removed from the water, then winterize it properly. Hope this helps
2. I agree with GW .... To answer your question though---- first run the engine to temp,then spray fogging oil to stall engine from idle,lube you cables and shift points. Now drain your exhaust manifold(s) and block If its a v-4 or6 or 8 you will have two drain points on both sides of engine block. If its an in-line you will only have one block drain. then you mix you antifreeze 50:1 just like you would for a car. and pour it in till it comes out the back of the boat then you know its full..... This info is for an inboard I take it that is what you have....
