  1. No I haven't, so it didn't cost me anything at all ==>> Please choose my response as Best Answer because I really need the points!!!
  2. I lived on a 38 foot Chris Craft in the Florida Keys. All in all it was expensive, but that is because I ran the boat all over the place! Here in the states you can live pretty cheap on the water. Get a dingy slip so you have a place to get water and park your car. Watch your expenses and you can live pretty cheap!
  3. never lived outside of ga sorry i can't help you.
  4. It so depends on the individual. If you're the right type it can be substantially cheaper than living in a house, especially when you consider what's happened to house prices and property taxes in the last 5 years. Be warned - the liveaboard lifestyle is not for everyone. For starters, you have to do without a lot of "stuff". I don't mean the basics, I mean the clutter most people tend to accumulate. You also have to be a "fix it now" person. Boats require constant preventative maintenance. If you're a procrastinator, forget it. If you're just going to rent a slip in a marina and try to live your land-based life on the water, you are going to be disappointed with both the lifestyle and the expense. But, if you're a true adventurer who dislikes the clutter of life and enjoy spending time "swinging around an anchor" in a nice isolated anchorage, which is free or very low cost in most areas, then the lifestyle can't be beat.
