  1. umm i kind of got sick when i slept on a boat for 9 hours once. but thats just me i love boats though.
  2. Probably always going out and seeing the beautiful water that you are living on.
  3. Basically, sea sickness, throwing up, and green faces all the time.
  4. Rocky, wavy what do you think? Smooth sailing all the time?
  5. tanker your funny , i was gonna say the same thing , but that last line u said cracked me up
  6. The water is not rough in protected marinas! I know several people who live on their boats in marinas. A couple never seem to take their boats out on the lake, just like being around boat people.
  7. Down here in South Alabama they have out-lawed them because of peeing and pooping in the water. See what a good thing them pooping peeing people did did i loved living on the river but its the law now. Why do people messed things up i will never know.
  8. my friend has one its fantastic and can be a tax write off, don't listen to these snot nose kids here
  9. i met someone with my family that lived on a boat and lived off of giving ppl rides. he said it was great
  10. I lived on a boat for about 4 months..Although it was a wonderful experience I still missed the many things i had at home. If he isa willing to work at it and make it a place he can call home it is ok. But keep in mind he still has to hae money to keep himself cool in the summer and warm in the winter!
  11. Can be a bit rocky at times but life is not without it's ups and downs.
  12. I lived aboard for 5 years and it's really great if you're young and single. I had an antique motoryacht that I brought back and forth between Florida and NY Harbor. There was always plenty to do with regards to maintenance, but it was well worth it for all of the great times (and hot chicks). I had intended on living aboard in NY during the winter but it gets far too cold for me. Also, the marina shut off the water for the season. So I headed South! Wooden Boat magazine often has boats for "adoption' in the clasifieds. Also, there is a publication called "Live Aboard" which I had a subscription to (I think I found it a a boat show). It has many stories and a lot of advice for anyone who chooses this unconventional lifestyle.
  13. That's a pretty cheap houseboat. It sounds like it's gonna need a lot of work. You know what they call a boat. A hole in the water that you pour money into.A house boat is only good in inland water. If you keep it tied to the dock it's going to cost you for service fees to keep the thing with all the needed utilities. It's alright if your single and go a good paying job to keep pouring money into it!
