The Ottawa River originates in the Laurentide Mountains of Quebec, travels west to a lake on the Ontario border, then travels South to Ottawa, Ont. and Hull, Que., then East to a Lake, then into the St.Lawrence River to the N. Atlantic. Returning "from the sea" would be to travel in reverse, east to west, before meeting falls shortly after Ottawa.
